What is the Quality Enhancement Plan? Print friendly version

The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) is the regional body for the accreditation of higher education institutions in 11 southern states and Latin America.

UCF was initially accredited by SACS in 1970. Its accreditation status has been reviewed every ten years with the most recent review having been completed in 1995. A new component of the accreditation process is the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The development of the QEP is an opportunity for the institution to enhance overall institutional quality and effectiveness by focusing on an issue or issues the institution considers important to improving student learning.

As a five-year project, the QEP represents a new endeavor for UCF. For planning purposes, UCF will have a completed QEP ready for submission to SACS no later than March 3, 2006. Upon SACS approval of the QEP, implementation should begin as early as July 2006.

For more information on the entire UCF QEP process, please visit us at http://iaaweb.ucf.edu/qep/index.asp.
