What is the Quality Enhancement Plan?

The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) is the regional body for the accreditation of higher education institutions in 11 southern states and Latin America.

UCF was initially accredited by SACS in 1970. Its accreditation status has been reviewed every ten years with the most recent review having been completed in 1995. A component of the accreditation process is the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). The development of the QEP is an opportunity for the institution to enhance overall institutional quality and effectiveness by focusing on an issue or issues the institution considers important to improving student learning.

As a five-year project, the QEP represents a new endeavor for UCF. UCF completed its Quality Enhancement Plan on March 3, 2006. After approval of the plan by SACS, implementation began in July 2006 on the University of Central Florida campuses.
